They are looking to you to fulfill a fantasy, so you’ve got to be game for whatever they’ve got in their heads. Some people can’t handle this. Also, do you have a sexy voice? A lower-registered slightly raspy voice is what works best for phone sex work. If you don’t speak like that normally, you can still manufacture this vocal sexiness. And finally, do you have the time to commit to this? Phone sex work is much easier when it’s taken seriously and not thrown to the side as a ‘gig.’ If you are working from home, you need to make sure you’ve got a good phone connection (you might need to invest in a home phone rather than a cell phone) and no distractions. You’re going to want to give 100% of your energy to your client when you are on the phone with them, no matter what.

Research Some Phone Sex Platforms
These days, it’s much easier to join a calling center or agency when looking for phone sex work. That’s because they’ve already got the clients, so half of the work is done for you! This does, of course, mean that you’ll be making less money because the company you work for is going to take a bit off the top. But, it means that you don’t have to go searching for business. Plus, if you get tons of repeat callers or specific requests to be put through to your line, you could eventually start your own business (like I did!).
Get a landline
Like I said, you’re going to want a great connection. And, many companies actually ask you to get a landline if they are going to have you working from home (which is pretty common these days). They can’t risk you using your personal cell phone because other calls may come in, it could be distracting, and it’s not very safe. There can be some obsessive clients out there, and the company really does want to protect you! Getting a landline that you use strictly for phone sex work is going to be your best bet in terms of what kind of phone you use to get a great connection.
Practice!
You’re not going to be an expert phone sex operator overnight, it just doesn’t work that way. Earlier in this article, I suggested taking some acting classes. If that’s too expensive for you, that’s ok! You just need to practice. A great way to practice is to actually call a phone sex line. Pay to get some tips from some of the girls who have been working in the industry for years. Also, have imaginary phone sex conversations alone. Play around with your imagination. The practicing is going to make your clients stay on the phone longer, which is going to mean more money for you!

Get some props
There are going to be some phone sex clients who ask for super realistic fantasies. They want to hear a booty being slapped, or a headboard banging. You can manufacture these sounds by getting some items. I sometimes use a toy squirt gun for some wet sounds, or tap a mug against a wooden table to mimic a headboard moving. You might not need to buy anything because you can probably use things you’ve got around the house to create these sounds!
Choose an alias
You are going to want to protect your identity. It’s sex work, after all. So, make sure the company that you work for allows you to go by a fake name and get to choosing! Your name can be anything, but it’s more fun when it coincides with the kinks you love to do. For example, Candy is a little bit sexier than Beth (but that’s just my opinion!). However, if you love to play the virginal fantasy, maybe you do want to go with an innocent-sounding name! You’re probably going to have to live out quite a few fantasies, so it doesn’t really matter in the end what name you pick.
