Common Errors New Phone Sex Operators Make

Deciding to become a phone sex operator is an awesome step that many women take to earn some extra money. A few even make it their full-time job, which is truly how it should be considered if you want to make the most out of the experience (aka –  make the most amount of money). Like anything else, phone sex is a product and needs to remain quality in order to make clients want to talk to you again or refer you to new potential clients. If you are thinking about becoming a phone sex operator, and especially if you plan to run your own business as one like me, here are some common errors you must avoid…

They don’t understand the meaning of ‘working’ from home

Working from home implies doing actual work and staying focused. This is a job and should be treated as one. That means that you need your office space, a quiet home, and to be able to perform the job to the fullest. In other words, make sure your children are not around and won’t distract you or disrupt any calls, don’t accept calls while multi-tasking, and make sure you have an organized space in order to do the job professionally.

They don’t research, practice, or train

Phone sex is not really a natural skill. Good PSOs practice to themselves in the mirror and either prepare actual scripts or mentally gain an understanding in how to elevate the conversation, maintain the flow, and keep it hot. Clients are looking to you to guide the conversation, so make sure you know what you are talking about! Do some Google searches for common fantasies and attempts to have a practice phone sex call guiding someone through that fantasy. You’ll realize that it’s harder than simply reacting with no preparation. If you find it difficult, you can (and frankly should) get professional training.

They don’t listen to their clients

As surprising as this may seem, listening is just as important as talking when it comes to being a PSO. Of course, you’ll be doing most of the talking during the conversation, but you must also listen and truly try to understand the needs of your client based on his (probably) minimal responses or vague requests. Respond to his visceral responses, try to pick up on what turns him on the most, and adhere to his requests and fantasies!
